John Gove: Look No Further Than Peter Budaj

Budaj played the most games this past season of any UFA goaltender and had the 5th best SV%. Expect he deserves more than last year's $600k contract so if he can be signed for under $1M he would be a solid signing.

Gotta agree with this, assuming he doesn't want to test the market. I'd go up to 1.5 if it's a short-term deal.

No more then 1M for a backup goaltender since the team will always be up against the cap. If they can sign Budaj for under 1M which I think they can then its a good signing. If he wants more there are other veteran goalies for 1M or less.

Its the same thing with all the people who want Boyle back... I liked him but he is not worth 2M to be the fourth line C on this team who needs every penny to fill out the roster.

He suckered punch a guy in a scrum, we all know what happens in scrums

He lost an edge when he went into Kapanen very reckless but not dirty

The Mathews one is a joke that is on Mathews he tried to react to late to the hit by side swiping Dotchin who was already postured up for the hit but Mathews did not get his lower body clear causing the knee on knee. So really its on both players.

The Gauthier hit from what I have seen was absolutely dirty and suspension worthy, the Marlie player released the puck back up ice a good 30-40 feet from the point of contact and it looks like Dotchin hit him from behind.

Kid needs to play with an edge but he also needs to know when not to. Will be interesting to see how it goes going forward. One thing is he can handle himself he is a big kid so will be interesting to see how many teams try to retaliate against him if dirty reputation persists.
